Prestwick Sailing Club becomes a Charitable Organisation

Prestwick Sailing Club is in the process of changing its legal form from a voluntary association to a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), as agreed at a Annual General Meeting in 2020. Our SCIO application to the Office of the Charity Regulator was approved on 25th May 2021, with our charity number allocated as SC050995.

We have now entered the transition phase and will begun the legal transfer of assets (deeds, leases, accounts, property etc) from the current association to the SCIO. We expect this process to be completed in late 2021, after which we will formally wind-up the association.
